Edit Remote Windows Registry

From Server 2008 R2

Ensure Remote Registry Service is Running on Remote System

• Open MMC Window
• File -> Add or Remove Snap-ins
• Select Computer Management then click "Add"
• Another computer -> Enter IP or hostname -> Finish
• Services and Applications -> Services
• Ensure Remote Registry is enabled

Edit the Remote Registry

• Open the local regedit.
• File -> Connect Network Registry
• Enter the domain hostname of the remote system -> Check Names -> Ok.
• Make sure you do not accidentally edit the local Computer registry.
