Purpose

To practice using BGP advertisements in PFSense. Eventually using AWS CloudHub to maintain multiple sites.

Setup

Initial setup includes four PFSense VMs.

  • One shared network between the VMs to simulate the internet.
  • Then one per VM and client pair.

Total of four networks needed.

PFSense Config

In the lab I provided each VM with a connection to the bridged network to my LAN. This allows them to download the OpenBGP package and allows me to access the web inerfaces.

  • NOTE : Make sure to allow the web interface on WAN. The WAN interface is the default for the bridged network and you can get yourself locked out.
